Gillian Chung's scene in the film (Mei Lanfang) will be removed due to protecting the Mei family reputation

Gillan Chung has had many downfalls since the scandal happened in January. She was replaced by her duo partner in the film (Butterfly Lovers). The film (Bathing Beauty) which she finished filming for had no release date either. Also her scenes in the film (Mei Lanfang) directed by Peter Chan were all deleted. The reason was because the Mei Family couldn't accept the sex scandal incident. Gillian was depending on (Mei Langfang) as a comeback but it seems this has caused her setback to her plans.

To protect the Mei Family's reputation

Mei Lanfang was a famous Beijing Opera artist. and will be played by Leon Lai. Gillian portrayed the character Fu Zhi-Fang in her younger years and is Mei Langfang's second wife. She only appeared for over 5 minutes in the film but now she doesn't even have 1 second. Since the scandal many people have been questioning whether Gillian's scenes would be deleted. Yesterday Mei Lanfang's son Mei Baojiu assistant Wu Ying accepted an interview for "Chengdu Shang Bao" but she stated that the Mei Family could not accept the main lead of the scandal to portray the role of their seniors. That is why all of her scenes are to be deleted. Maybe those scandal pictures were not a big deal to some people, but to the Mei Family it is a very big deal. How can they accept their mother and their mother in law suddenly related to some sex scandal news? From what I know of they are seriously going to remove Gillian's scenes from the film."

EEG have not received any notice

As to Gillian's scene being officially removed, Hong Kong has not received any notice to confirm this. However a spokesperson stated that the film will be released in January next year. Mani and director Peter Chan stated that her scenes would not be removed in an interview a month ago. But from what the Mei Family assistant said in the interview, it seems that Gillian will feel the pain once again and a setback.

Edison Chen's luck was abit better, although the film "Sniper" was also not released, but he still appeared for 3 seconds in the Hollywood film "The Dark Knight".
