"Butterfly Lovers" Hong Kong premiere; Charlene becomes Chun's 'bride'

Monday October 6 2008, Taiwan
Yesterday, Chun, Charlene and Director Ma attended the first premiere of “Butterfly Lovers” in Hong Kong. In just 5 more days, it will be Chun’s birthday and he joked and said that Charlene hasn’t even given him a present yet. He said that perhaps he should just go straight out and tell her what his birthday wish is, so rich lady Charlene can buy it for him. At the premiere, there was a small mock wedding ceremony and Charlene expressed that in real life, she hopes that she can have a very simple wedding with many close friends. She also said that Gillian was scared that there were too many people, so she did not attend, but she will personally go to the cinema to watch the movie to support Charlene!

At the premiere, the scene is very different from the tragic ending of the movie. Charlene, dressed in red, enters the scene in a palanquin, and Chun uses his sword from “Butterfly Lovers” to lift up the flap and welcome his “bride”. The whole scene was very romantic. Reporters and fans also helped them to heat up the atmosphere, and yelled out “Kiss her, kiss her”. The publics’ enthusiasm made Charlene feel a bit awkward, and Chun just pretended to not hear them. The 2 directors Director Ma and Chen Xiao Dong gave the pair a rattan as a gift, hoping that it will help Charlene to discipline her “husband”.

Chun considers Chinese wedding; Charlene prefers simple wedding

Born in Brunei, Chun has never seen such a traditional style wedding like this before, so when the traditional Chinese wedding song was played while he accompanied Charlene to the scene, Chun felt very curious. He said that for his wedding, he may consider this type of wedding style. As for Charlene, she that although riding in the palanquin was quite fun, but she said she would rather prefer a simple wedding.

Celebrating birthday in Hang Zhou

October 10th is Chun’s birthday, and as Fahrenheit have another concert on the 11th in Hang Zhou, Chun’s birthday will also be celebrated in Hang Zhou. After entering the entertainment industry for 3 years, because of work, he cannot celebrate his birthday with his family but Chun says that he doesn’t think it’s a pity because lately, he has been promoting “Butterfly Lovers” in a number of different places, and can pre-celebrate his birthday with many fans so he feels very happy. Charlene says that she plans on inviting Chun out to dinner, as she cannot decide what to give him as a present.

Chun finally returning home

After the premiere in Hong Kong, “Butterfly Lovers” will promote in Taiwan, GuangZhou, ChengDu, Beijing etc. On the 16th of October, they will hold another premiere in Chun’s hometown Brunei, and Chun says that he is very anticipating this visit, not only to help promote the movie, but also so he has the chance to see his family.

Gillian continues to avoid media

Yumiko Cheng, Ken Hung and Chung Shu Man all personally came to help support Charlene but best friend Gillian Chung was not present. Charlene said, “Actually, I did ask her to come, but she said she does not want to create chaos, so instead she will go to cinema and watch the movie!”
